Mostly I'm posting this to pass along a tip on the vegan shoe front.

The Nordstrom Rack has lots of vegan New Balance sneakers, both the US made ones and the imports for about the same pricing. I was there the other day since my old sneakers were shot and the price ranged from $29-$59. Not bad at all, and a good option for people like me who really don't want to buy shoes without trying them on.

Store locator: http://about.nordstrom.com/MapPoint/PrxInput.aspx

Also, I keep finding Method cleaning stuff and various brands of packaged organic food at Big Lots. Not sure what's up with that, but they also made me a hell of a deal on a pleather sofa set, so for a mainstream store they also get a  for keeping my vegan ass in schwag.

Anybody else score anything good lately?

1. Those are really good prices for New Balance shoes...
...the ones I checked out on the internet were a lot more than that.

I've been going to Big Lots ever since you suggested it on a thread from way back, and have loaded up with organic food from there. It's always a crap shoot, since they have different stuff each time I visit, but over time, I've pretty much loaded up my cabinet with different foods I get pick up on each trip...

2. Yeah, I do the same thing. If there's something I want I'll buy all I can use until it expires
Last time I was there I got some little aseptic packs- like juice boxes- of organic tomatoes two for a buck. I bought about $10 worth. And some more Method stuff, so I think they get a lot of Target's overstock.

3. Amazingly enough, a lot of the stuff I've purchased....
...at Big Lots has an expiration date that is way off in the future. I can't help but think they just get overstocked items as you suggested, or from companies that need to unload their stock for whatever reason.

4. Are all New Balance sneakers vegan? I need some and I usually get them at Big 5

5. Nope, but it's pretty easy to tell the pleather ones from the others
I've found 'em at Big 5 before, but they seem to have mostly the China-made ones and more of the leather ones than the non-leather so the selection tends to be a bit slim.
