TAKING ACTION FOR ANIMALS
Has anybody seen this?


Would you like to become more involved in the changing world of animal protection? Mark your calendar now to join hundreds of animal advocates July 28-30 in Washington, D.C.

Registration is now open for Taking Action for Animals 2007, the leading national conference of the animal advocacy movement. Register now to take advantage of the early registration rate.

This year's conference will have a special focus on taking action for farm animals. You will hear from dozens of speakers who are movement leaders and experts in the field.

Sponsored by Animal Welfare Institute, Compassion In World Farming, Farm Sanctuary, The Humane Society of the United States, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, Whole Foods Market, World Society for the Protection of Animals, and other leading animal protection organizations, Taking Action for Animals is designed to motivate, inspire, and teach advocates from around the globe. 1. I wish every activist could go and see this entire program
I think that the program looks pretty good, with a range of topics running the gamut from welfare to softcore animal rights. The highlight, however, is the underlying theme. I'd call it, "Taking Action for Animals: Maintaining Civility with Your Peers in the Public Eye". There are some folks on that list that sincerely DO NOT like each other, and the infighting between some of those organizations is huge. However, you'll likely never see it in print, nor hear them speak of it in any form of mixed company. Our political party could learn a lot from them.
