I assisted my friend in saving the most beautiful kitten the other night.
We had gone to a church that has a coffee bar and finally got run out when they closed. So we were sitting out in the front garden chatting and we both heard this tiny mew. She is a young siamese, beautiful crystal blue eyes. She had to have been someone's pet and was tossed out and she came to me and let me love all over her while my friend (who already has 7-8 kitties at home) went for food. I wanted her, but I have a cat dander allergy (the benefit from my allergy shots finally wore off) and a disabled child. The poor kitten ate like she hadn't eaten if almost a week.

My friend took her home, but was trying not to get attached to her in case she had feline leukemia. She spent $130 on her getting her tested and her shots, but it looks like she is healthy. My fried can't bear the idea of parting with her.

Why don't churches ever honor animals by having or sponsoring some sort of animal refuge? This church calls the city on strays, according to my friend.

My friend is such a sweetie. She does everything she can to make another portion of the world around her a happy place.

1. You and your friend did a great thing.
That kitty was saved from a potentially dangerous, if not deadly, life on the streets. Kudos to you both. :applause:

2. I was just assisting in the time gap. She really made tha commitment.
She is a real St Francis person.

I had to avoid rubbing my eyes or touching my face until I could shower off and toss all of my clothes into the washer. But it was worth it to love on this sweet kitty for an hour. She is a smart cat, and knows "good" people who are there to rescue her.
