Poll: Sexism Among Registered Voters
Frankly, I think it's going to take another century before we get a woman president - outside of TV shows.

"Twenty-eight percent of registered voters are so sexist they would not support a woman for president regardless of what party nominated her, according to a WNBC/Marist Poll."

4. you forget, that 28% would never vote for anything but a neocon
repub anyways. Its their base. I would bet good money that all that 28% voted for BUSH, and they can keep on voting republican. All we have to do is sway and energize 1% more people to our side & its ours. And in the case of Hillary, since the Clintons have such deep roots in the black community, they would easily energize 1% more blacks to vote.

After 8 years of bush, the anti-clinton crap has died to just the freeper sect of the republican party, which would never vote dem anyways.

6. Unfortunately,
there are plenty of sexists among both Dems and Independents. I really don't think any of us needed this poll to tell us that, but it does.

7. i would bet that the sexist shair in our part is way under 5%

and the sexist to the point of refusing to vote for a dem cause she is a woman is lower than 1%. I would like to see some scientific polls on this, till then I would bet that a woman would get 99% of the democratic vote + 10-20% of the republican female vote.

8. 99% would never happen...

Well, this is a very reputable poll.

Would never vote for a woman as president:

Democrat -- 21%
Republican -- 29%
Independent -- 33%

In my neck of the woods - the South - the numbers are much higher. There are plenty of Dems here who would be called Republicans in other states. We're talking neanderthals, and the country has plenty of them. For every person who admits to being sexist, you can be sure there are at least two more who simply refuse to admit it.

11. Hillary vs. Condi
A friend and I were wondering who the Rupukes were going to run in '08 and we started to fantasize about them running Condi. Then we thought, what if it were Hillary vs. Condi? Freeper heads would explode! On the one hand they'd want Condi for the conservative, but on the other hand... she's a woman! And then some of them would have problems voting for an African American! Which would leave only Hillary for them to vote for... hence, exploding heads.

 Well, it's a nice fantasy. And in that election, we'd be guaranteed a woman prez.

Of course, the ultimate problem would be that if Condi got in, by fair play or by foul, we'd have Condi as the leader of our country. :scared:
