Steinem on KPFK/Ian Masters show today...
Not sure if anyone has ever listened to Ian's show, but he does get great guests...

Gloria Steinem talks about Palin as the first guest, and you can download the show, Background Briefing, here:

I disagree that "the main question"in this election is are you happier now than eight years ago, and that the REAL question is "Does Republican = Republican," but I am clearly in the minority.

I also don't know why people like Ian are so quick to repeat Republican setups like "Should we question a mother's ability to do X?" I havent heard any serious person state that.

Listen to more of ian's shows here : ianmasters.org
IF his accent bothers you, stick around for the content. This is one of the better shows out there..

1. I listened to the show - the very, very best progressive radio talk show in America
It's kind of a hidden secret because Pacifica radio is not heard everywhere. But Ian Masters has the most intelligent show on the air and consistently the best and most nationally and internationally prominent guests, not just occasionally, but each and every time. His shows don't just involve sensationalist sound bites or talking points. They get very much in-depth in discussing the details of the issues, on a par with Democracy Now. I don't quite know how he manages to have such famous people on, doing extended and detailed commentary, but I'm glad he does. Today he had John Dean and Gloria Steinem on the air. I'm not bothered at all by his British accent, on the contrary.

Gloria Steinem really laid out the case for why the women's movement is not going to be swayed at all by Sarah Palin.

2. I agree...not sure why other people don't catch on.
Your right on all points. TV/Talk radio people only have to get a quick sentence out here and there, and it so amazing to hear how
PATIENCE + INTELLIGENCE = CLARITY every week.

It's funny because I don't even get KPFK here where I live now, in Houston. I only found Ian last year through Googling someone else, maybe
Alex Gibney. Because of his Ian, I gave KPFK $250 this year, which wasn't easy to part with trust me. =)

I tell people that I don't really pay attention to the news anymore, and just need three non TV shows, and they don't believe me.
Ian on KPFK
Lapham on Bloomberg
Maybe Radio Nation or Counterspin

Oh and Moyers/Frontline

That's enough for me. There is more real information in those three shows than 100+ hours of TV/Drudge/Huffington....

=)
