What seven billion people looks like
I love stuff like this. Different ways of looking at the same thing...

Form design intern at Fathom, James Grady, maps population density in Dencity:

Dencity maps population density using circles of various size and hue. Larger, darker circles show areas with fewer people, while smaller, brighter circles highlight crowded cities. Representing denser areas with smaller circles results in additional geographic detail where there are more people, while sparsely populated areas are more vaguely defined.

1. Kind of scary
What's even more scary is knowing how may "Quiverfull" and other spawning-for-god types are churning out babies galore with no concern for the impact on the world.

3. Let me point out upfront

I don't like the quiver full people. I don't see any reason these days to have more then two or three kids.

But the real problem with population isn't the united states, or any industrialized country for that matter. Most have problems with dropping populations.

The real problem is India and China, and those countries that are not industrialized.

Why do people focus on the industrialized countries, when we aren't the ones causing THAT particular problem?

P.s. the native population of this country has always declined. The only way the population of this country grows is through immigration.

4. "Why do people focus on the industrialized countries"
Each person living in an industrialized country consumes way more of the world's resources than someone in the developing countries.
