How big was the world's population when you were born?
The world's population is due to hit 7bn this October. Use this applet to find out the world's population on your birth date, and how different countries were growing at that time...

(Note that it wants the date in DD/MM/YYYY format.)

2. Well I'm too old for the calculator (only goes back to 1951), but I recently looked it up
and found out that the global population has MORE THAN DOUBLED since I was born in 1944 (closer to triple). It was about 2.5 billion back then.

3. Didn't realize that
1951 seems like an odd restriction.

Anyway, 2.9M for me. More than doubled since my birth.

9. 1951's as far back as a lot of the more comprehensive global records go
There wasn't much in terms of institutions to handle them in a consistent manner before the UN's establishment.
