Neanderthal man ate fish in Torremolinos 150,000 years ago
http://www.typicallyspanish.com/news/publish/article_31956.shtml

The find is the oldest of its type anywhere on the planet

Neanderthal man lived on the Iberia Peninsula, and now items found in a cave in Torremolinos has turned out to be the oldest found so far.

Carbon dating has placed the date of the fossilised items found in the Cueva Bajondillo as from 150,000 years ago.

The items, small tools and other items, show that Neanderthal man was a fish eater. Previous to the find the earliest indications that he ate fish dated from just 50,000 years ago.

The investigation is being led by Miguel Cortés Sánchez from Sevilla University, and scientists from the CSIC, the Superior Council for Scientific Investigation. Their research has been published in the webpage PLoS ONE (http://www.plosone.org/home.action)

1. Spain is also the place
where they have found the oldest, continually inhabited region in Europe--a place called Atapuerca, just outside Burgos. They've found human & humanoid remains dating back almost 1 million years.

4. Or that particular Neanderthal was Catholic.
Neanderthal's were smarter than your average bear. Why wouldn't they eat fish?
