Well Richard Hoagland will be going nuts about this Mars thing.
Edited on Sun Jun-05-11 07:14 AM by Ichingcarpenter

A GOOGLE geek has found what he believes is a 'space station' on Mars.
He found the spec on the Red Planet by accident but has provided fellow explorers with the coordinates of the 'object' so they can discover it for themselves.
American armchair astronaut David Martines posted a clip of his trip to the surface of the planet on YouTube.
He used the search giant's maps of the astral body and his video has already clocked up a staggering 58,000 views.

HRSC frames is labeled here as H1564_0000_ND3.

ESA shots showing that region are # H1564-0000-ND3 and # H1597-0000-ND3.

the co-ordinates 71 49'19.73"N 29 33'06.53"W (you have to take out the apostrophes/quotation marks for it to work on search so it looks like 71 49 19.73 N 29 33 06.53 W)

I just thought it was interesting for us space nutss and should be on the
'History channel' in no time......lol

6. looks pretty cool, but ...
I think I'll wait for the street-view version before jumping to conclusions about what we're watching. Could be anything from a rock to an artifact of how google stitched the images together (i.e. just a bug in google-earth/mars).

8. Well can't you see - it shows up as 700 yards long
Edited on Sun Jun-05-11 01:55 PM by Taverner
And everyone knows 700 x 700 = 140000

And everyone knows 140000 is the sacred number 'Ala' from Egyptian numerology, which means this was a place the Pharohs once lived...

Do I do a convincing Hoagland?

It's a long commute but a much quieter neighborhood.

11. Did the ancient Martians really have the technology to build this, or is it proof that
visitors from other planets visited Mars in the distant past? Skeptics who claim that this is merely a pixelation artifact have been unable to explain the millimeter precision of the construction and the fact that no dwellings have been found nearby. Moreover, it is possible to calculate pi from the dimensions of the main building
