Bacteria can communicate and exchange energy via nanowires
Some bacteria can grow electrical nanowires that let them link up in biological circuits to communicate and share electrical energy, according to University of Southern California (USC) biophysicist Mohamed El-Naggar, assistant professor of physics and astronomy at USC College, and collaborators.

The finding suggests that microbial colonies may survive, communicate, and share energy in part through electrically conducting hairs known as bacterial nanowires.

1. Sharing? How unrandyan.
What are they, commies?

Haven't they heard of the "free" market, every "man" for himself?

What stupids!

How can they possibly survive and prosper?

....

Or perhaps nature itself is telling us that it goes "a little" deeper than that.

And that real teamwork ("partnership" even) is "fit".

...

(Nice piece. A great talent.)
