"A typical landscape REFLECTS about 90% of the suns energy. Only 10% is absorbed."
Someone on a message board made the following statements:
"A typical landscape REFLECTS about 90% of the suns energy. Only 10% is absorbed."
"I are a Physicist with a US National Laboratory and a PhD from MIT"
"Yes I do know more about this subject than most, if not everyone here."
"Feel free to use the ignore bin if you want to stay ignorant and uninformed."

Agree, disagree, or vomit?
:puke:

1. Can you be more clear.
What is the intent of the comment, what is the significance, and the context.

2. The intent and significance should be clear enough.
And if you are computer literate, teh context is easily enough googled.

3. Could you explain it.
Edited on Thu Aug-26-10 02:11 AM by RandomThoughts
Are you capable of discussing such things?

You use, bin, instead of button, relating to some form of running of a program in the ignore feature, probably because of use of programs that block people from seeing and hearing.

But the use of 'use ignore' implies individual control, that is outside of many thoughts on that concept.

5. That is also a doctrine.
Edited on Thu Aug-26-10 02:22 AM by RandomThoughts
Heard that one before also, usually jester doctrine, but not always, the thing is it requires a lack of respect that invalidates it. It is in the Star Trek episode with the giants and the midget, if you want to see a simple example of it.

Also in the many forms of matrix/tron doctrine, something is missed, any users of a system have a system above them, call on that and put them in order, so any concept of a hiarical control from any doctrines like matrix/tron fails by that situation.

22. I don't use TV for things like this.
Some people are assholes, just very, very good at it.

As far as sensitivity goes, I was always told to "get over it", grow a thicker skin", or just STFU if I don't like it.

I had to learn to laugh at some very dark things or be destroyed by them.

6. I think everybody is a 250-lb weightlifting ex-Navy-SEAL with MIT doctorates, right?
At least, on the internet. Oh, and they're all dating Jessica Alba and have a brother who's a Harvard lawyer and works for the Department of Justice.

Right?

23. What I find interesting is how you feel about people not believing what you say.
Edited on Fri Aug-27-10 12:13 PM by RandomThoughts
And even to the point of negative comments.

Although it is possible that if you have or are related to VPs, and graduates of ivy, it is possible you may be one of the people I can collect from by proxy.

So if that is the case, and the reaction in your comment feels like it might be.

then.

Come a little closer :)

I live near Seattle :)

Side note, when I was smeared, one of the things people that heard the smears did, was put feces in my food as a joke, you puke quick when that happens. so although you did not post to me, I have already been there, how about you?

9. He's a dumbass
The earth reflects about 30% of the energy directed at it. Some landscapes are more reflective than others, of course, but on average, the planet sucks up 70% of the sun's energy that hits it.

11. Albedo 0.39
Was the title of a Vangelis album. And the average amount of light reflected back from the Earth. An Albedo of 1 would be a perfect reflector.

21. There is a subtle grammar error in the post........
to properly express the prerogatives of so many degrees, one should say not "I are a Physicist" but instead "We are a physicist."

Royal we doesn't get nearly enough use nowadays, especially in the colonies.
