Clitoris captured alive and well
Science tells us what we already knew, yet again. Science tends to reject any information that does not come from it's own methods, and then announces a breakthrough when they finally catch on. :-/

Clitoris captured alive and well

The live clitoris takes up more space than we knew it did

The clearest picture yet of the human clitoris, taken with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), has unveiled its full glory.

Urologist Dr Helen O'Connell of the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia and US gynaecologist Professor John DeLancey of the University of Michigan report their findings in the latest issue of the Journal of Urology.

"One of the facts about female anatomy is that there is widespread ignorance," says O'Connell.

She believes the new MRI images will help medical specialists and lay people alike to have a better understanding of the clitoris.

1. What fact has science rejected
about the clitoris?

Speaking as a scientist, I'd like to know.

3. Well...

That it continues into the body becoming part of what is called the "G-Spot", that it is quite large and that it all engorges with blood during sex, and that female orgasm involves a gland called Skeen's Gland, analogous to the male Cowper's Gland that provides the fluid sometimes called female ejaculate.

Until Masters and Johnson, science even rejected the existence of the female orgasm entirely!

12. When did science reject those facts?

Not having yet discovered something is different from rejecting something. A great deal has been discovered in many fields of knowledge since the time of Masters and Johnson.

No doubt there is much more to learn. The botany professor who chaired my thesis committee in the early eighties had a great story about a coup of his in grad school in the early fifties. He happened to read the first journal article about endoplasmic reticulum and was able to report on it in his seminar class without one prof being able to question him and pick his report apart (as profs like to do in seminars) since they knew nothing about his topic.

Reminds me of that scene from Cable Guy when they were playing porno password and Jim Carrey's hint was "that little thing... you know... that dangly thing..."

5. Under bush's abstinence only programs - women aren't
allowed to have orgasms. Sex is for procreation only.

7. And how many things that we "already knew"
has science ended up showing were incorrect? Maybe we should just fli pa coin to decide how the world works.

Gotta love confused logic and fuzzy thinking.

9. It takes a scientific study for SOME people to find it.
The discussion of the Clitoris of the Dead kind of creeps me out.
