We don't get to see many launches. This is a SeaLaunch from the equator.

It just took off... pretty fun to watch. I miss the excitement there used to be when the shuttle started when I was young.

it is pretty neat. They ship the rocket to the equator and launch it from a ship in the ocean. Glad I'm not the only geek here ;)

3. Love stuff like this ...

I've been getting e-mail updates about the GravityB project since before it launched, and I actually read them. :-)

I was visiting a friend in Florida once -- first time I'd been -- and one night we were sitting around, and he said, "Hey, look over there."

"What am I looking at?"

"Wait for it ..."

And then there was this bright, orange glow in the near distance, and quickly afterward a shining streak in the sky. It was the first rocket launch I'd ever seen in person. He lives just a few miles from Cape Canaveral.

4. Have you seen this?
This is an article from the current popular science about a guy who's taking the X Prize to the next level.... an orbiting hotel.

If I had a couple million dollars lying around I'd be first in line.

5. No, I hadn't ...

Seems I'd heard something about it at some point, but I'd never read anything in-depth about it.

Yeah, the only real reason I've ever wanted to be ultra-wealthy was so I could do stuff like this.
