I feel sorry for the kids who are forced to go to school there.

5. I went to high school in Tennessee, when it

was still illegal to teach evolution in public schools, nearly fifty years after the Scopes trial.

My biology teacher simply told us it was illegal for him to teach us the material about evolution, and that the state said we were forbidden to read that material. "Now skip ahead to p. ____."

I still managed to go on and earn my degrees in biology, the partly forbidden science.

3. Warning: this textbook contains material

from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. The absence of witches is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of my pisspoor life. This material should be approached with a can of gasoline, denounced from the pulpit, and burnt publically, along with anything else that encourages you to think for yourself.
