Brain Cells Fused with Computer Chip

The line between living organisms and machines has just become a whole lot blurrier. European researchers have developed "neuro-chips" in which living brain cells and silicon circuits are coupled together.

The achievement could one day enable the creation of sophisticated neural prostheses to treat neurological disorders or the development of organic computers that crunch numbers using living neurons.

6. Well, how would Brownie have the ability to judge Arabian horses...
...that can do calculus...he probably hasn't the ability to check their work product.

Meanwhile, we already have a chimp in the White House, no difference there.

9. This is an I/O system - say thanks to Jose Delgado
"The individual may think that the most important reality is his own existence, but this is only his personal point of view. This lacks historical perspective. Man does not have the right to develop his own mind. This kind of liberal orientation has great appeal. We must electronically control the brain. Someday armies and generals will be controlled by electric stimulation of the brain."

Dr José Delgado,
Director of Neuropsychiatry
Yale University Medical School Congressional Record,
No. 26, Vol. 118 February 24, 1974

11. Isn't that how the Borg came into being?
The Borg used to be humanoids and then they became part machine, and they lost their humanity.
