National Science Foundation to CLOSE Major Observatories?
Based on what I heard on Today's "Nature" podcast, the NSF actually plans to react to a budget shortfall by closing observatories and telescopes.

I think we need to find out the details of this and pressure Congress to fully fund Astronomy.

They stopped funding the 14-meter radio telescope on the Quabbin reservoir in Massachusetts.

If anyone wants to contact their representatives about astronomy funding, I'd sure appreciate it!
