Sarah Palin e-mails: Staffer saw space for governor on racism
In one exchange from the e-mails of Sarah Palin released Friday, a staffer suggests that Alaska’s then-governor is uniquely placed to speak to racial issues.

Palin was responding to an e-mail from her rural affairs adviser, Rhonda McBride, about a radio host who had made a racist, sexist joke about Native Alaskan women. Palin wrote: “Disgusting. And I take it personally when I consider they’re talking about my daughters.” She is presumably referencing the fact that, because her husband, Todd, is part Native Alaskan, her children are as well. “The House of Rep. will be doing a letter or resolution . . . We’re trying to find a joint vehicle where our office chimes in too.”

McBride went on to suggest that there was opening for Palin to start a wider dialogue on race.

“The Obama candidacy has triggered a national dialogue on race — that’s having an impact here on the native community,” she said. “The ‘racial’ issue is on people’s minds — as you were quick to pick up on — at the Tom Stewart memorial . . . You and Todd are in the unique position to take leadership here.”

1. Isn't Palin the one who allegedly said,
"So Sambo beat the bitch."

I don't see her taking leadership on anything, but especially anything having to do with race.

2. You will note
Palin did not follow the advice as found in the email.

The email proves only that she did not care to start that conversation.

3. SP taking a lead on race issues is truly barf inducing.
I believe her entire half term she nominated one native to a leadership position. And only after being hounded about it.

4. Wasn't Palin accused of calling Native Alaskans
"f-ing Eskimos"?

7. All her various racial slurs are here:

Includes the lesser known one that she had a problem with those "Asian types" in Hawaii, according to her father.

5. Palin and her stupid teabaggers are the ones who claim that Blacks are always using the race card.
What percentage of Native Alaskan is Todd or her daughters? She's always talking about how "diverse" her family is. What a joke.

If her children were Black she'd be the biggest whiner and complainer in the country.

6. Todd Palin: part Native but all Redneck.
Since mixed Native\white people are common in America, and pretty much assimilated, I don't think Palin has much to offer. It always sounds like a crutch she uses to try and show people she isn't an ignorant racist herself ("Look at me! I married one of THEM, so that proves I'm not racist!").

8. On top of that, a fascist. .
He was, ironically, a member a member of the racist Alaska Independence Party until his wife ran for governor.
