Frat inspired by Robert E. Lee bans Rebel uniforms
BIRMINGHAM, ALA. — A college fraternity inspired by Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee has banned members around the country from wearing Confederate uniforms to "Old South" parties and parades after years of complaints that the tradition was racially insensitive.

The Virginia-based Kappa Alpha Order issued new rules to chapters earlier this year saying members aren't allowed to wear Rebel uniforms to parties or during their parades, which are a staple on campuses across the South.

1. Ah, Kappa Kappa Kappa Alpha
The first two Kappas burned down when the cross in their yard fell over.

2. Lee was an abolitionist who was opposed to secession
The only reason he fought for the South was that he would not attack his native Virginia under any circumstances.

If someone were to channel Lee's ghost today, he might approve of this uniform ban.

4. I loved the Old South weekend I attended in college.
Girls dressed like Scarlett. Guys dressed in Confederate uniform replicas. Hmmmmmmm. Guess there's a time and a place for everything.
Could I get a big Wheat Barley Alfalfa? :toast:
