NEW YORK Article Three Groupie, or A3G, is gone.

The young federal prosecutor--who claimed to be a girl as the author of a sex-tinged blog about the judiciary-- has quit his job.

David Lat, 30, who had been the anonymous writer (as A3G) of "Underneath Their Robes," left his job Friday as an assistant U.S. attorney in Newark. He said he would soon be going to work in Washington.

The blogger initially claimed to be a young, female lawyer , until outed in an interview for a November issue of The New Yorker magazine.

The blog contained sightings of judges, including Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito Jr. going to a Newark restaurant. It had lists of "super hotties" and named "Sporty, Spicy Judges."

Lat would not comment about his resignation when contacted by The Star-Ledger of Newark. "You'll be hearing from me more," he said.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office told the newspaper Lat's departure had nothing to do with his Web journal. "It was David's decision to leave," said spokesman Michael Drewniak. "There was no effort to force him out of the office at all. He was very good at what he did."
