More young Japanese, married couples, losing interest in sex: gov't survey
The number of young Japanese with no interest in sex is increasing, while some 40 percent of married couples are "sexless," according to a government study released on Jan. 12.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare study of men and women's lives and attitudes -- conducted every two years -- was carried out last September, surveying 3,000 men and women between the ages of 16 and 49 across Japan. The ministry research group received responses from 57.2 percent of those queried.

"The sexless problem is connected to the low birthrate, and we need to take steps such as coming up with ways to improve communication between women and men, and rethinking work hours," says Japan Family Planning Association head Kunio Kitamura, who participated in the survey.

The percentage of male respondents who said they had no interest in or had an active aversion to sex stood at 18 percent -- an 8-point jump from 2008 figures. The percentage of women who agreed rose 11 points to 48 percent. There were particularly sharp increases in the 16 to 19 year old age range, where the percentage of females with no appetite for sex went from 46.9 percent in 2008 to 58.5 percent in 2010, while among males the rate more than doubled from 17.5 percent to 36.1 percent.

Hmm, and Japan doesn't have to suffer through Republican/Christian-sponsored "abstinence education" like in America. And I wonder how this could be.

5. look up information on the Japanese work environment and
you'll figure out why they are losing interest in sex. Also, look up the term "Karoshi".
