Big Pharma to begin microchipping drugs
Source: Natural News

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
Editor of NaturalNews.com

(NaturalNews) The age of pharmaceutical microchipping is now upon us. Novartis AG, one of the largest drug companies in the world, has announced a plan to begin embedding microchips in medications to create "smart pill" technology.

The microchip technology is being licensed from Proteus Biomedical of Redwood City, California. Once activated by stomach acid, the embedded microchip begins sensing its environment and broadcasting data to a receiver warn by the patient. This receiver is also a transmitter that can send the data over the internet to a doctor.

1. Stories from natural "news" should be taken with a whole shaker of salt
It's a homeopathic/herbal "medicine"/snake oil woo site.

FOR EXAMPLE (from the article):

"Choose a healthy, holistic lifestyle based on nutritious, organic foods, regular exercise and the avoidance of all man-made (synthetic) chemicals, and you most likely won't ever need pharmaceuticals for your entire life."

Avoid this site at all costs, people. This is tincture of woo.

"Novartis AG plans to seek regulatory approval within 18 months for a pioneering tablet containing an embedded microchip, bringing the concept of "smart-pill" technology a step closer."

4. ha ha ha...try reading!

(Financial Times) Patients who fail to pop pills on time could soon benefit from having a chip on their shoulder, under a ground-breaking electronic system being developed by Novartis, the Swiss pharmaceuticals group.

The company is testing technology that inserts a tiny microchip into each pill swallowed and sends a reminder to patients by text message if they fail to follow their doctors’ prescriptions.

7. The title "world of woo"
more fits to big pharma. Like their pills ever cure anyone. They actually do more harm than they help.

9. 'InfiniteUnknown' as a site?
Edited on Sun Feb-20-11 11:38 AM by LeftishBrit
Do you know what sort of a site that is?

Apart from claiming among much else that 'Obama admitted in 1980 that he was born in Mombasa', that Mossad perpetrated 9-11, and that Ron Paul is the only good member of Congress, they are virulent opponents of 'Obamacare', and write the following - which just about sums up WHY I get so upset about the anti-conventional-medicine links on this forum:

http://www.infiniteunknown.net/2010/03/22/health-care-bill-dooms-america-to-pharma-dominated-sickness-and-suffering/

'Our Congress has betrayed us (yet again). I believe that with perhaps the exception of Rep. Ron Paul, every single Senator and House Representative should be thrown out of office at the next election, stripped of their power and sent home to face their home-district families that they have now doomed to a lifetime of sickness, disease and pharmaceutical toxicity. Our national leaders claim to be voting on Health Care but what they really delivered was Hell Care, because dying of cancer while on chemotherapy while no doctor can legally tell you that vitamin D prevents 4 out of 5 cancers is, indeed, a living hell (or dying hell, in this case).

And speaking of Hell, the dark energies that have been provoked and called upon in this battle for pharmaceutical dominance over the “disease management” of the American population almost seems downright demonic, as if some evil power from other world had been summoned into Washington D.C. to ensure the passage of this legislation that practically guarantees another generation of pain and suffering at the hands of conventional medicine.

All the health solutions that really work — nutritional medicine, orthomolecular therapies, chiropractic medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and so on — have been locked out of the system while those therapies that promote a lifetime of disease have been locked in. And in this way, our Congress has now made certain that America as we know it today will not survive another generation — because no nation can achieve greatness when its people are drowning in toxic chemicals and degenerative disease.

We’ve got to save the America we love

America doesn’t need more drugs, more chemotherapy, more mammograms, more vaccines and more nutritionally-ignorant doctors pushing more poison pills onto more uninformed patients. What this country needs is a grassroots health revolution that throws out the broken, failed system of pharma-medicine that doesn’t work and replaces it with a new system of healing, nutrition, patient education and personal health responsibility that would slash our health care costs and set our nation on a new path of health and prosperity.'

Anyone who seeks to deprive people of their BASIC HUMAN RIGHT to access to 'conventional medicine' is a MONSTER OF PURE INDESCRIBABLE EVIL, who does not even have the right to be considered as a human being! They are poisonous snakes!

ETA:

And what about this?
...
'The Senate bill is worse and does intend on killing babies with our scarce and hard earned money.

These two bills will be merged together and it is my common sense guess that they will go behind closed doors and merge these bills together with the forced option to fund abortion using YOUR money. Please people PRAY that this whole thing will miraculously get shot down.....

No matter what, you better believe that with everything else these Washington thugs do, they will go behind closed doors and do whatever they choose to do. AMERICA IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION!!

Healthcare is only a powerful stepping stone to their government takeover plan. Open your eyes America, they don’t care what “we the people” want or need, which is affordable and decent healthcare, they simply want control...

Though not opposed to healthcare reform most Americans do not want this KIND of reform which is a dangerous UN-AMERICAN UNCONSTITUTIONAL We want reform that makes sense and that is helpful for all not a destructive death warrant for the unborn and the elderly. We want government to stay out of our personal life decisions period. This is America !!'

11. People run into trouble with prescription drugs
because they can't remember if they took them or not, either skipping necessary doses or doubling up on potentially toxic medications.

This is a good thing, folks.

How about addressing the concerns it raises, instead of just dissing the site.

13. Because the views of the site are disgusting, that is why
I will read and consider all sorts of viewpoints with which I don't fully agree, or even disagree altogether; but I have my 'lines in the sand', and this site crosses them.

(1) I will not accept viewpoints from any site, especially a health-related site, that promotes right-libertarianism, anti-government views, or support for either member of the Paul family, let alone both.

From 'Natural News':

• On the issue of freedom and liberty, I predict a surge of interest in Libertarian political philosophy from both former Democrats and former Republicans who realize that the path to prosperity and freedom is found in individual liberty and personal responsibility. I see the Tea Party suffering from disillusionment as its own elected members betray its supporters with more taxes and Big Government spending. Expect to see Ron Paul and Rand Paul do extraordinarily well in the coming years (as long as they stay on principle), and watch for a groundswell of popular support for the once-again-new idea of sensibly limited government.

• Watch for a rise in the Tenth Amendment movement in America as an increasing number of Americans fight back against what they see as a dangerous expansion of the power of the federal government. With the TSA in your pants and the FDA in your greenhouse, there's no telling what part of your life Big Brother wants to control next. America was founded on the idea of limited government, and I believe we'll see a powerful, passionate movement that seeks to bring the federal government back down to its Constitutionally-mandated size (which is a fraction of its current size and scope). The Tenth Amendment, by the way, specifically reserves all rights not specifically granted to the federal government to be held by the States or the People. The Constitution, for the record, never granted the federal government the right to run a health care system, nor to give away the power to coin money to a private banking cartel, nor to inspect your backyard food production operation that you use to produce jams and jellies for the local farmers' market.

(Note in particular: 'The Constitution *never granted the federal government the right to run a health care system*')

(2) I will not accept viewpoints from any site that is ideologically opposed to *all* forms of 'conventional medicine' .

Long-term predictions
• Over the next decade, I predict a disappearing "health middle class" and a great divide between the healthy and the sick. The healthy, you see, are consuming superfoods, getting sunshine on their skin and taking nutritional supplements on a daily basis. The unhealthy are eating processed foods, taking prescription medications and following the advice of their ignorant doctors even if it kills them. There will be fewer people of "average" health in America in the coming years. The masses will gravitate toward disease and sickness while the informed few (such as NaturalNews readers, raw food vegans, superfood fans and so on) will get healthier and more productive.

• By 2025,...the scientific censorship of the FDA will have been abandoned to a chapter of the dark history of America. Millions of doctors, oncologists and useless government bureaucrats will find themselves out of work or, in the most extreme cases, subjected to court trials for their crimes against humanity.

• By 2030, it will become obvious that all those people treated with vaccines, chemotherapy, pharmaceuticals and conventional medical procedures are largely infertile and dying from degenerative disease. Also by this time, those individuals who ate diets largely made of GMOs, processed foods and artificial chemical additives will discover they, too, are infertile and diseased. The dying, diseased people of the western world will look back upon the "age of medical science" with hatred and disbelief, and the vaccines, chemotherapy, mercury fillings, water fluoridation and other poisons that are common in our world today will, by 2030, be written up in the history books as examples of humanity's incredible capacity for self-deception and faulty thinking, even in the realm of so-called "science."

This instantly rules out acceptance of *anything* the site says, unless it is backed up by a more decent site.

6. Big Pharma needs to work on not killing people...
...before they delve into bells-and-whistles technology.

How many widely used drugs have been recalled or revealed to cause
death or side-effects that are worse than the original ailment for
which the drug is prescribed? Too many.

Television ads for drugs are laughable. The narrator's long list
of "possible side effects" reads like a horror show--while beautiful
music plays and beautiful beach scenes are shown. It is surreal!

If someone wants to throw me a life preserver--I'd prefer that the
life preserver not sink me to the bottom of the ocean--and I really
don't care if that life preserver has shiny objects on it either.

Oh this industry, it just slays me. They've got our corrupt
politicians in their pockets and, as a consequence, their folly is at
times so over the top.

I was taking Prozac for 20 years for my chemical imbalance. Last week the major drugstores told me that I could only get a perscription for my fluoxetine and that it be Pilva by Teva. It smelled toxic. BTW never had a reaction in all my past 20 yrs.

Took my two capsules and had a severe reaction: tongue burnt, throat swollen, sinus, weakness etc. Took about 6 hours before it subsided. Checked the inactive ingredients using PillBox.com and saw they use ammonia and other shellacs now. Oh wow is it any wonder I had a reaction!!!!

Drugstores will not fill it with anything but whatever they have available. Here's the catch: I have to keep taking Prozac and not just quit or I will get very sick; I need to continue taking it for my chemical imbalance or I will end up in the nut house. The drs know this and also now know I cannot tolerate the new chemicals in the medicine.

We checked PillBox for the least inactive ingredients and asked to order that one from the mfg. In both cases, they said the mfg said they aren't making it anymore.

I just fell into the cracks.

http://www.pillbox.com/

A) I'd like to know how they got the manufacturing process, since it's usually a trade secret.
B) I don't remember my antidepressants having "active ingredients" posted on it, since it's all one chemical which IS the active ingredient.

Or this one:
