Do you buy prescription drugs online? Where?
I was thinking of trying to lower my drug costs by buying online, but there are so many sites it's overwhelming. I am uninsured, and I can't get generic substitutes for a couple of my meds.

Any recommendations? Any cautions or horror stories? Any sites I should absolutely avoid?

Thanks for any input :hi:

1. take a look at Caremark, I have ordered from them for
years and they are very dependable. They have a good website and are easy to get on the phone. I have an insurance policy and I pay them $20 for a refill of a generic drug which is for 3 months. For a name brand, I pay $50 copay for 3 months of a drug. My insurance is from my school teaching days and I am very glad I have it. Did you look at the prescription drug coverage by medicare. You may not be old enough, but my sister-in-law thought it was the best she could find.

10. Thanks for your suggestions
I'm going to check them out. I don't think I'm old enough for Medicare but who knows, everything is worth checking. Thanks!

2. I have used both Canadadrugs.com and Canadapharmacy.com
for many years and am completely satisfied with their service.

I think the falling dollar has affected the prices recently. The cost of Allegra went up, for instance.

11. I was a little concerned about Canadian sources because I wasn't sure if
deliveries are held up at the border or otherwise harrassed to discourage US buyers. But I will check out your recommendations. Thanks!

3. Be careful.
There are a lot of counterfeit drugs out there and you can't tell them from the real thing. You could end up with a lot of plaster instead of the drugs you need.

Minnesota has checked out some Canadian pharmacies. The information is here.

5. The problem isn't limited to online pharmacies though
Corner drug stores are having the same problem with counterfeits! Then what?

Scary

4. FamilyMeds.com
I think they have the lowest prices I've ever seen, and they are dependable.

Check them out and let us know how their prices compare. I can vouch for their service.

Saw the Dateline show this week about counterfeit drugs and it scared the hell outta me. One woman died because her pharmacy gave her counterfeit EPO (erythropoietin) unknowingly.

Sheesh, if the counterfeits get into our trusted pharmacies, how would we know???

7. I use two different Canadian pharmacies to buy drugs for my dog!
One supplies her chemo drug, Lysodren, for Cushings' Syndrome and the other provides 2 different eye drops for her glaucoma. I save roughly 50% on each. All of these are human medicines used with canines.

15. It has occurred to me that more savings may be realized by splitting up
prescriptions among several pharmacies. Your experience shows it's a good idea to shop around.

I mentioned in another reply my concern about Canadian purchases being delayed at the border as a means to discourage US buyers, but that doesn't seem to be happening.

16. I'm gonna guess it's legal
judging by some of the recommendations listed here. I'm a little paranoid about setting up prescriptions with Canadian sources should they be outlawed. But there would be enough debate stirred up that we would have time to change sources without experiencing any life-threatening delays. Not that that would bother this administration.
