Another Study Refutes Vaccination-Autism Link

"One more study finds that the measles vaccine -- given alone or as part of the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine -- does not increase the risk of autism in children.

The new findings come about a week after The Lancet retracted a 1998 study suggesting that the MMR vaccine contributes to autism risk. At the time, the Lancet study alarmed many parents and led to major declines in measles and MMR vaccination rates in some places.

In the new study, Polish researchers compared 96 children with autism with 192 children who did not have the disorder, looking for any relationship between measles vaccination and autism.

They found no evidence that children who were vaccinated for measles vaccine -- either in a separate shot or as part of the MMR vaccination -- were more likely to develop autism. The researchers said they reached their conclusion after adjusting for autism risk factors, including mother's age and education, length of gestation, medications during pregnancy and the child's condition after birth.

"Wakefield may have the highest public profile but he is just one of many who seek to profit from autism and he is by no means the worst. Remember the Geiers? This father and son team from Silver Springs in Maryland have an unsavoury record that makes Wakefield seem almost reasonable.

Wakefield breached the terms of his hospital’s ethics committee. The Geiers, operating out of the family home, invented their own IRB and granted themselves ethical approval for experiments on children with a powerful drug called Lupron. Lupron is used to treat precocious puberty, a rare condition in young children. It is also used is also used to treat prostate cancer in men, to treat endometriosis in women, and to chemically castrate sex offenders. The Geiers use it on autistic children and young adults.

Kathleen Seidel has catalogued their bad science, plagiarism, inflated academic resumes, the fraudulent IRB, cruel and unnecessary blood draws, attempted deals with TAP pharmaceuticals and the Lupron Protocol itself on her Neurodiversity website. Trine Tsouderos at the Chicago Tribune covers all the basics in her recent profile of the Geiers, ‘Miracle drug’ called junk science.

The most disturbing part of Tsouderos’ story was the news that the Geiers were rolling out a franchise for others to cash in on their unproven and dangerous protocol. According to their website they offer the following:

Autism Symptoms First Appear After Babies Reach 6 Months, Study Finds

Symptoms of autism such as poor eye contact and limited communication skills are not noticeable during a baby’s first months of life, but appear gradually as children approach their first birthday, according to new research.

The conclusion published online Tuesday is significant as doctors and researchers look for more accurate methods to identify children with autism as young as possible in order provide early intervention.

“Contrary to what we used to think, the behavioral signs of autism appear later in the first year of life for most children with autism. Most babies are born looking relatively normal in terms of their social abilities but then, through a process of gradual decline in social responsiveness, the symptoms of autism begin to emerge between 6 and 12 months of age,” said the study’s lead author Sally Ozonoff of the University of California, Davis M.I.N.D. Institute.

The signs at first are very subtle and parents miss them, ignoring them or blowing them off until they just can't any more, usually around the time of the MMR vaccination at 12-15 months.

I suggest every time they come up with a new vaccine you be first on the list. ...Or better yet, I suggest you apply to be a guinea pig for one of the testing groups.

By the time the vaccine goes into limited trials on the target group, it has passed large scale trials on adults.

6. Well, one recent argument I have seen (no link)

throws a different light on the subject of autism, stating that perhaps the best vax connection has to do with the number and frequency of all the childhood vaxes, that for some or most children, they need to be spaced out and not given all at once. lOOKING BACK AT MY DAUGHTER'S RECORD there were so many in her first 2 years, I almost wept. I was ignorant about the real dangers at that time. But the point is, there are too many all at once! When, IF they decide to get them they should have the option of spacing them out for God's sake!

that there are "too many all at once"?

(Please include in your explanation the fact that an infant is exposed daily to THOUSANDS of pathogens in the air, on surfaces, and through injuries, and how this differs from the inactivated and/or weakened pathogens in a vaccine. Bonus points for explaining the difference between intravenous and intramuscular introduction.)
