Interesting statements from Dr. Bruce Ribner include ~

* According to existing research, the Vaccine (not sure which manufacturer) is said to have less of a side effect ratio than other vaccines typically do.

* H1N1 is infecting more children than a typical flu do to a lack of immunity in the young.

* H1N1 is no more severe than standard, seasonal flu.

* H1N1 is much more likely to negatively impact children six months to four years of age (even though fewer in this age group have been effected thus far.)

5. We have had 6 deaths in two counties (next to each other) in the last week with the hospitals full

of patients and ICU only had two beds until today. This county has 50,000 other one 27,000. Both counties declaring state of emergency. Running low on supplies in hospitals. Unless very ill do not come to emergency room. Have to call doctor first as the er is very crowded...

6. Seasonal flu kills 35000 Americans each year - this may kill up to an additional 35000

younger individuals and still not be any worse than the seasonal flu. Although those that die and people of course are and will die - that is small consolation.

7. The reason it's likely to kill more people/children is that more are becoming infected.

Younger people have no immunity which means they contract the disease very easily. So, it's no worse than ordinary flu but it's much more contagious in this age group. At least that's what I garnered from watching.

That said, I'm not convinced we know all there is to know.
