To those who tell you that Congress is exempting themselves from health reform

Ask them to cite which section of the bill does this. Most people are either just repeating what they're being told,
or they're cherry picking single sentences from the bill and taking them out of context.

1. That talking point stems from a Republican "gotcha" proposal

to require all members of Congress and their staff to enroll in the public option. The Democrats generally voted against it. The reason is that the public option would be just that -- optional, not mandatory. Republicans then turned around and said, "Look, they think government-run health care is good enough for the American people, but not for Congress!"
