Anyone here have reactions to white wine?
I really don't drink hard liqueur but when I visit someone or go out to dinner, I will order a glass of white wine. Every single time, I have a reaction. Immediately, my nose is stuffed up, and always, the next day or maybe several days I have a severe case of Montezumas revenge. I know that sounds rather unpleasant to talk about but the bottom line, do you suppose this is an allergy or is it a common thing?

It is easily something I can do without but it is nice to join others with a glass of something. I do not like red wine.

I have other allergies but none bother me in this way.

2. My former mother-in-law had reactions to wine.
She said she was allergic to sulfites, and there are more in white wine than in red.

3. Sounds like you're allergic to sulfites
They make sulfite-free wine, but you have to look for it.

4. Could be the wine . . .
. . . but more likely something in the wine. Sulfites are a culprit as are other contaminants, including allergy to various insects that end up in the vat. Try a sulfide free organic wine and see if that causes problems.

6. Yes! Though recently I had a Very Good experience with an Organic vinter out
of Washington state, Bear Mountain, if I remember correctly. It was a wonderful wonderful Gewurtztremiener, which I usually DON'T like at all and can't drink without getting a headache.

here if company drops by.

Do you know if they only make a Gewurztraminer? (got to love that name, I can even pronounce it!) I am also not fond of that particular wine, I like Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and other lighter wines.

Off to see if they have a web site.

Thanks
