A public health plan for the general public would prove to Americans that such a system does work.
That's why the GOP doesn't like it. Their standard argument is that the govermnent
is bad at running such a system.

Yes, I know we have Medicare, already as proof. But, many Americans somehow view
that as being different than a publicly administered plan for all.

Is anathema to many. I wish these people could see that they have been trained to react like Pavlov's dogs.

and under the guise of 'bipartisanship' Dems usually let them fuck up great ideas.

3. Exactly correct
Successful programs are attacked relentlessly until they falter or fail, and then Republicans say "See? We told you it wouldn't work."

Public Education is one great example. They've been assailing it for decades, undermining its funding, and perverting its function with crap like NCLB, and then when some graduate can't read, the GOP holds her up as proof that the system has failed because of its own inherent flaws.


They have a mighty propaganda machine, and it's working to catapult the Conservative agenda at all times in all places.
