4. When I fell and tore my knee ligament at work, I demanded whiskey in

order to just MOVE from my position on the floor. My boss thought I wanted to get drunk, but I knew that when you are in excrutiating pain, whiskey acts as a nerve-deadening agent. Two ounces later, I was able to sit up, get into a chair, stumble down the hall, take the elevator, stumble to the car, and drive with the bad knee WITH A CLUTCH 15+ miles to the doctor during rush hour. Admittedly I took unnecessary chances, but the fact of the matter is that I maintained a clear head and a manageble gait.
