Lack of Vitamin B-12 and Brain Shrinkage
Here is an interesting piece on CBC radio's The Current. Scroll down to part 3 to listen:

http://www.cbc.ca/thecurrent/2008/200809/20080922.html

"As we age, our brains shrink by about half-a-percent a year for the average elderly person double that for anyone with a mild cognitive impairment and about two percent a year for people with Alzheimer's. Until now, that's just the way it was an unpleasant but unavoidable fact of life. But according to a study in the current issue of the Journal of Neurology, you might be able to do something to slow that process. The study found that elderly people with high levels of Vitamin B-12 in their blood experienced a slower rate of brain shrinkage."

5. I'm not making any claim. I posted an interesting clip from the CBC.
Take it any way you wish.

6. I can vouch for the neurologic effects of B12 deficiency
for the last 2 years,I have had seizures, progressive memory loss, speech problems...all after my gastric bypass.I finally found a doc who listened to me,paid attention to the supplements I was already religiously taking ..by mouth..and diagnosed me with a B12 deficiency.I have taken B12 injections daily for a week, now weekly...and the change in my neurologic status is incredible(and not a placebo effect).I will have to take B12 by injection for life, probably, but ...so what?

7. Is that the only reliable way to take it?
What about the sublingual tabs? Do they work?
