Are Medical Trends Going in the Wrong Direction?
A 'gulf war vet' who had the chemical pneumonia and almost died at the time ... is still 'hanging on' and shared that he walked through the Arms Room ... He shared a lot of things. I quote him in the Desert Storm forum and he uses the handle 'Shattered Life, Too'

He said that his doctor moved on; and the same for the current doctor. After he had finally saved up enough money to get some blood tests and urinalysis done, he was told by the lab that because of new medical guidelines, they are not required to give him a copy of his own medical tests.

How will we ever get this figured out with this kind of 'help?'

Have you also noticed the trend for good surgeons to co to cosmetic surgery?

Have you wondered whether the 'money is' in treating sick people ... not in bringing forth the cures for what ails them?

1. That's the problem with health care as a commodity
Since illness is not a consumer decision, but vanity surgery is, that is where the money will be allocated.

We should have healthcare in the private sector only when we are able to choose our illnesses based on income; the wealthy can chose multi system organ failure requiring transplants while those of us in the paycheck to paycheck world will have to be content with the common cold.

Until that happens, sucking profit out of a system that barely functions for a slim majority and functions not at all for a sizeable minority is insane. Degrading service in an area that can be fatal in the name of increasing profit is insane. Lavishing wealth on doctors who insert hair plugs and suck out subcutaneous fat while forcing sick HMO patients to fight for minimal standards of care is insane.
