Singapore - Two more people have died from dengue in Singapore, taking this year's death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 10, as the city-state fights its worst dengue epidemic, a newspaper reported on Friday.
The Straits Times said the latest victims were a 55-year-old woman who had been suffering from diabetes and chronic renal failure, and a 61-year-old man who had a cirrhosis of the liver.
Officials from the health ministry and hospital were not available for comment.
Singapore, a Southeast Asian island of 4,2-million people, has reported 10 237 cases of dengue fever up to September 17; surpassing the 9 459 incidents recorded last year, when dengue infections rocketed to a 10-year high.
