Connecticut GOP Leader Calls For Vote On Gay Marriage Ban

Connecticut voters would get a chance to cast a ballot on same-sex marriage, under a proposal from the Republican leader of the state Senate.

Minority Leader Louis DeLuca (R-Woodbury) said he wants to have a nonbinding referendum in the fall, to gauge whether the public believes the state Constitution should be amended to define marriage as only between a man and a woman.

"It isn't putting anything into law," DeLuca said.

1. While we're at it, let's put the rights of ALL minorities to a vote.

That way, we can have the sort of mob rule our country's Founders clearly envisioned when they created the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

they have no concept of the constitutional protections put in place to prevent majority rule at the expense of the rights of the minority
