My LTTE regarding Prop 8
For all those who supported Proposition 8 and voted to take away the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens, I’m curious what right you would now like to give up. It seems only fair that since you took away the rights of law abiding citizens, that you, too, should give up one of your rights. Perhaps you’d like to forgo your religious freedom and allow the State of California to interfere with your privacy rights and how you choose to worship. That seems a fair trade, as the only reason given for actually stripping law abiding citizens of their Constitutional Rights was a narrow interpretation of the Bible.

To all the GLBT California citizens, keep fighting for your rights. Just as other minorities before you, the road to justice is long and hard, but in the end, Civil Rights always wins.

Thoughts?

4. Thanks for the link. I added it to my LTTE:

It seems only fair that since you took away the rights of law abiding citizens, that you, too, should give up one of your rights. That seems a fair trade, as the only reason given for actually stripping law abiding citizens of their Constitutional Rights was a narrow interpretation of the Bible.

To all the GLBT California citizens, keep fighting for your rights. The long and ugly history of miscegenation laws in this country were eventually overturned, and because they were, we now have President Barack Obama, the product of a mixed-race marriage. Just as with other minorities before you, the road to justice is long and hard, but in the end, Civil Rights always wins.

6. Thank you.
The passage of this takes away much of the joy I feel over Obama winning.

8. Thanks for the corrections and suggestions.

To all the GLBT California citizens, keep fighting for your rights, even when it seems the voters of California are more concerned with the rights of chickens in cages than the Civil Rights of law-abiding California citizens. The long and ugly history of miscegenation laws in this country was eventually overturned, and because they were, we now have President Barack Obama, the product of a mixed-race marriage. I'm thinking of sending this to all the newspapers I can find in CA.
