My letter to McDonald's about caving in to the AFA
This quote:
"We have a well-established and proud heritage of associating with individuals and organizations that share our belief that every person has the right to live and work in their community free of discrimination."

Actually got me to eat at McDonald's again. I was proud to support a company who stood up and supported the rights of their gay and lesbian workers.

Today, however, I read that you've given into the American "Family" Association.

I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am that you've caved in to bigotry despite the fact that their boycott caused you no harm.

Due to the fact that you've given in to the hatred espoused by this group and these people I will no longer be frequenting your restaurant, nor will I be telling guests at the hotel that I work with about the restaurant when they're looking for options near our property.

I truly hope that your company comes to regret throwing the hard working individuals of its restaurant under the wheels of A.F.A's hate filled rhetoric.

It speaks volumes of your company.

2. here's my letter
I recently read that your company will no longer be a part of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. By not renewing your company's membership in the NGLCC, you are are taking a stance on issues that affect millions of your customers and employees. You have just lost a customer due to your capitulation to those call for discrimination.

I have a choice when I'm looking for a quick meal, and the Burger King in my neighborhood just picked up a customer.

3. Here's my reply from McD
Hello Will:

Thank you for contacting McDonald's. We appreciate this opportunity to share some information with you.

As we've said all along, McDonald's stands by and supports our people. Diversity and inclusion are integral components of our brand and our heritage.

We continue to have strong employee networks throughout our company and will continue to align our brand with individuals and organizations that share our belief in supporting our people and the communities we serve.

Regarding Richard Ellis, he made a personal decision to step down from the Board of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce after he accepted a new position earlier this year with McDonald's Restaurants of Canada, Limited.

At McDonald's, we continue to value and respect everyone.

Thank you for sharing your personal point of view on this topic with us.

I am going to contact my local McDonald's and let them know that they lost a customer because of the actions of their corporate HQ
