8. And, no Boy's Don't Cry.
Obviously two different ends of the spectrum, but Birdcage was one of my favorite comedies. Hank Azaria was a trip, and I just love Nathan Lane.

20. I thought it bit
I saw the movie in the theatre and will watch if it comes on TV but it's nothing compared to the other movies on that list

it was a major studio attempt to make a gay themed movie

and a failed attempt at that; it was nothing but stereotypes

24. I don't count Bridcage as a real "gay" movie. It was a gay movie for straight folks to watch and
fell good because they watched a "gay" movie. In the movie, they have a great big fight, Nathan Lane storms out, ready to leave Robin Williams. When Robin finds him, and they see each other and know all can be well again in their union, they do what any couple would do---sit on a bench and Robin puts his hand on Nathan's knee? Yeah, just what any couple would do.....

Disguised as a guy's fishing movie (one of my top five movies, actually).

Thanks for posting it. "Another Country" along with "Birdcage" should also rate honorable mention.

9. There is a couple of gems missing
"And the Band Played On"
It may not be a "gay" movie but it was about 'gay" people.

"The Crying Game"
Again not necessarily a "gay" movie but most certainly a human one.

28. Both great movies.
I would say And the Band Played on is a gay movie. The start of the AIDS epidemic was centered on gay culture and communities. I know I learned a lot from that movie.

25. Another big Hollywood "gay" movie for the masses that lets people watch a "gay"
movie without actually seeing anything gay in it. Tom danced with a guy for a few minutes, right?
Not saying it is bad. It was a great movie and I love that people are willing to watch movies about gay people. But those movies do not show gay life.

watching Ellen, and hearing and seeing all about her wedding!

I'll tell you what, Portia de Rossi is no Haruka, but that is one attractive woman.

She almost turns me straight.

32. Haruka knows her way around both varieties of screwdrivers
Her mom wants to buy us a window cleaning service for our anniversary present. We're like, "get us a Lowe's giftcard, because Haruka is putting in slate laminate!" Her mom is totally OCD about cleaning, so apparently the windowsills are her #1 priority.

A bit nicely cheesy in parts -- which is a GOOD thing in an "issues" movie -- but very well acted and very well done.

The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. It may not be high art, but watching that movie as a 16 year old literally changed my life. And the title characters were basically me and my first girlfriend. :)
