Parents to Supreme Court: Allow Civil Rights Lawsuit over School's Homosexual Indoctrination
Remember the angry father who burst into a Massachusetts school over "King and King"?

http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2008/jun/08060513.html

Massachusetts parents objecting to a public school's indoctrination of their children in homosexuality without their knowledge or consent may have their day in court, if the US Supreme Court grants a petition to allow their civil rights lawsuit to proceed.

*snip*

The Parkers' battle for their rights as the primary educators and moral educators of their children has had a dramatic history. David Parker was arrested and charged for trespassing by school officials after he refused to leave a parent-teacher meeting without a guarantee school officials would notify him when homosexuality and transgenderism were to be discussed in front of his then six-year-old boy. The charges were later dropped.

1. If they want to be their child's primary educators, they should homeschool.
If their kid is enrolled in public school, they've given the school permission to act in loco parentis for purposes of educating their child during the school day.

3. That's so true
At the same time, though, schools shouldn't be teaching ANY aspect of sexuality to very young children--straight or gay behavior. Until kids are mature enough to handle such complex issues, their education should be limited to teaching kids not to let people touch them inappropriately.

That should get them by until they're old enough to grasp that their parents are assholes. ;)

4. It is only a complex issue because humans...
...(and I use that term very loosely) choose to make it so.

The earlier children learn that there are mummies and mummies, daddies and daddies as well as mummies and daddies the better.

Classes for six year olds are NOT about the mechanics of sexual intercourse.

7. How many books have heterosexual parents
And isn't that teaching the poor, poor children sexual activity?

Why is it that if there is a same-sex couple, the activity is implied, while opposite-sex couples are pure and don't engage in sexual activity?

9. Would you be in favor of schools teaching kids how not to be bullies?
Some states have been passing anti-bully legislation in response to LGBT students being harassed. Would you support that type of education?

You know, until they figured out their parents were assholes.

12. It isn't about sexuality. Our child is in school with other children who have heterosexual parents.
Those children should be educated to understand that other types of families exist. Or should they just keep asking our kindergartener why he has two mothers and let him explain it?

5. I hope that this boomerangs on them . . . what they are asking for is discrimination ---
I also wish that Christian religions would stop brainwashing their members with this hatred

and intolerance for homosexuals ---

6. the father is doing this based on "religious" grounds
"the Parkers and Wirthlins say are violating their constitutional right not to have their children influenced in ways that violate their deeply held religious beliefs."

...okay...

i'm sure there are other things that are taught in public school that parents like this could "object" to based on what they perceive to be a violation of their "deeply held religious beliefs"

i think it's great this school was talking to kids about this.

sooo...if things going on in public school are so offensive to your religious beliefs then don't go to public school?? i don't know. (but that idea is fucked because not everyone could afford to home school or send their kids to private school)

8. Oh, Jesus Christ.
Want to teach your kid to be a bigot? Homeschool them. Or something. Don't expect a public school to do that for you.
