I watched Paragraph 175 today
For those who haven't seen it, it is a HBO documentary which features interviews with the handful of gay survivers of the Holocost which remain interspersed with historical images and narration. One of the more interesting parallels to today in it was the use of homosexuality (of Rohm) to attack Hitler. It was for hypocracy, of course, just like what we hear about Bush. It is a very compelling movie and I highly recommend it.

2. There were some quite scary parallels
but I do think we have rounded a corner which will be hard for our enemies to make us go back around.

7. Don't be so confident
Up until The Holocaust, gay people had begun to live more openly and freely in Germany. It was pretty much a "golden age" for their gay community.

And even after Hitler started to crack-down on homosexuality, certain gay bars and clubs were allowed to stay open.

That way, it was more easy to round them all up when the day came.

We could be sitting in the eye of the storm right now.

4. my guess is that they were probably in poor health
The minimum age of these survivors would have been around 75. Plus those awful war years would have taken quite a toll. It is amazing to me they got as many of them to agree to participate as they did.
