Two young women missing....
Telling to me was the this entry in one of the young woman's journals:

"An entry from Crites' diary has her family particularly concerned, according to reports. The entry read: "Wherever I end up laying, whether buried or cremated, I want to stay with my true love, buried next to her. This is my choice. I'm sorry."

I hope that these young women return home safely. I worry about that journal entry - it eerily echoes the writing of friends and a girlfriend no longer with us.

3. I am so sorry to hear this.
I have thought about them off and on and checked back to see if you had updated.

May they be forever together and at peace.

Just one more story to add to the thousands and thousands. We must do what we can to make this needless.

4. I'm sooooo sad for the families, and for the girls, too. That's such
a difficult age. I wish they'd just run away and then came back after awhile instead of carrying out their apparent suicide pact. A real pity. Depression is just an awful, awful thing, I reckon.

5. You are right about that.
It was implied in the first article from one of the diary sections that they were lesbians. I was actually speaking about that. It should never be that someone should feel so depressed or cornered or shamed by who they love. It has to stop. We lose to many wonderful souls because of that.

Whatever it was that drove them to suicide is sad. I am also sorry for you since you knew one of the parents. Just an all around tragic thing.

6. I'm assuming they were lovers, too, but don't really know for sure.
I ran off when I was 19 with my 17 yo GF (she was just about to turn 18) so I figured they'd come back in one piece, as we did. It really DID cool my mom out about the whole lesbian thing (turned from bitterness to don't ask/don't tell). Anyway, whether or not they were gay, it's just such a difficult and dramatic age. Weird thing is that the Washington Post story said there was no suicide not in the car and that the ignition was on and the car was out of gas, but they didn't know if it was suicide. If they weren't in a garage, wouldn't they have needed a hose hooked up to the exhaust? Now I'm wondering damn, were they just trying to keep warm at night but there was a leak? If so, bitter irony.

7. Hmm, I don't know.
I hope that it was quick and painless for them. I also hope that their parents will seriously consider putting them beside each other. The whole thing just makes me hurt.

If I was your mother and had been bitter and you ran away I think I would quickly turn to something else as well. Nothing is worse than worrying about your child and having them take off like that except the death that these families will feel forever. Thankfully that never happened to me but if it had I think I would have never lived through it.
