3. I'm going because I'm a fan of the L Word,

and if the HRC wants to put together events like this, which help to bring together the gay and lesbian community in my area and areas all across the country... I won't complain. I don't have to agree with every endorsement the HRC makes in order to appreciate their other efforts. I think it'll be a good time for all, so if you're a fan of the show don't let your contempt for the HRC stop you from going...just refrain from making a donation at the door, or where ever it is that they'll be taking them up.

4. I'm a fan of the series, too.

And I will watch it without the aid of an HRC "meet & greet" which by all means I hope that you enjoy to the fullest.

I'm only saying that the national leadership of this group does not represent us when they sell out their political endorsements to candidates that do not respect or even equate our civil rights as being equal. Maybe you feel differently, but it rubs me the wrong way.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy and don't give them any money either. And if you don't give them any money, please let them know why. The HRC is not changing shit for us.

5. I actually have issues with the HRC

that go back way beyond their endorsement for Joe. The organization overall is pretty disappointing, and while I have donated in the past I won't be donating on Sunday. All of that said...I don't have any problems supporting events, volunteering, etc etc when they actually DO something, because my biggest complaint is that the HRC on both the national and my local level barely does anything. At all. I do hope to get a chance to voice my grievances on Sunday.

Supporting the show and meeting other fans is important to me as well, so I definitely look forward to the opportunity to do both.
