I just had a phone caller refuse to talk to me
It was most likely someone soliciting a charitable contribution. That's pretty much the only people who ever call my land line. This woman called...

"May I speak with Jennifer?"
"Speaking."
"No, may I speak with Jennifer Davis?"
"That's me."
"No, I spoke with her before, you don't sound anything like her."
"Must have been a while ago. My voice has changed since then."
"I'll just call back some other time when she's around." (hangup)

It's gratifying, hilarious, and pissing me off all at the same time. *69 didn't work, so I don't even know who it was. I hope it wasn't a bill collector!

Probably a call from Rick Santorum's re-election committe wanting some bucks.

2. Usually it's for the firemen, or missing kids, or the arts
I am guessing the Seattle Opera sold their donor list. I get an interesting mix of charities calling.
