Finally, the Homosexual Agenda, in Five Words or Less
There's been a great deal of talk over the last few decades about something the reactionary far-right wing calls the "homosexual agenda." This agenda seems to have many differing and apparently, to the right wing, confusing points, so it's time to clear up exactly what the homosexual agenda is -- in five words or less.

Alan Sears, president of the ultra far-right group called the Alliance Defense Fund has written a book (titled, not surprisingly, The Homosexual Agenda) about the goals behind the gay activist movement, and reveals that the homosexual agenda is: to destroy the American family.

The Reverend Louis Sheldon, chairman of the ultra far-right group called the Traditional Values Coalition, has also written a book; his is named The Agenda: The Homosexual Plan to Change America. In it he describes the agenda blow by blow: how homosexual activists plan on recruiting children into the lifestyle, how they're undermining traditional marriage, and how they are criminalizing any public criticism. (The book was praised by former Oklahoma Congressman J.C. Watts, who said, "This powerful and hard-hitting book lays bare the reality and risks of the homosexual agenda.")

According to Sheldon, the homosexual agenda is, more or less, to destroy the country.

So what really is the homosexual agenda? To destroy society? To conquer the world? To annihilate the galaxy? Well, here it is, finally, for everyone to see, in five words or less. The homosexual agenda: to live like anybody else.

5. Equal Protection Under the Law.
We're supposed to have it already. But apparently there are special ways to read that I am not privy to, in which you can interpret

"Amendment XIV: No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

to mean that homosexuals aren't really people.

6. By the way....
This is the same Amendment that demonstrates why we must grant amnesty to undocumented immigrants.

You see, once you are in the country, you're entitled to all of the protections of the law. But if you are an "illegal person" (never use this phrase, please), you are barred from these protections. If you entered the country in a way that someone with a piece of paper and an ink pen disapproves of, many people believe that you are not entitled to this equal protection.

If you are an undocumented immigrant, and you are exploited by corporate interest for cheap labor, you should have the protection of the law (minimum wage). If you are an undocumented immigrant, and someone commits an act of violence upon you, you should have the protection of the law (hate crime). If you are an undocumented immigrant and someone rapes your sister and shoots your son in the head while forcing you to watch, you should have the protection of the law.

Right now, these human beings have the enmity of the law, not the protection.

All because they were looking for work? For food? For any way they could find to help support their families? "Illegal persons" cross stretches of Mexican and American desert to find themselves in a position of enmity with the law, in hopes of finding a way of improving their human condition. As such, they subject themselves to conditions we all would universally regard as lawless and inhumane--in hope of something better.

And we have the gaul to call that a crime? We used to call it the American Dream.

And by the 14th Amendment, we cannot withhold legal protection to any person in the United States. NOT ANY CITIZEN. ANY PERSON.

Yes, citizenship does have privileges and immunities. But the entire Bill of Rights, this amendment, and many others do not provide that distinction. They clearly say "persons in the jurisdiction of."

And they should.

9. There is a lot of wild speculation....
as well as a lot of documented evidence, that there are an awful lot of homosexuals in the Bush Administration, and the Republican Party at large. However, most of them are deep closet cases.

You ever wonder why Jeff Gannon had so many visits to the White House? You ever wonder why he didn't always log out when he left? It might be sloppy security, but I would hope the Secret Service was more competent than that. Of course, I don't get why they had to privitize and outsource that job. There are plenty of whores in the Republican party. There was no need to hire a contractor for their sexual needs. ;) Limo companies and poker party orgies. Wanna get an idea of how widespread this culture of corruption has gone, someone will be along any second to point us to the Andy Stephenson threads.

Unfortunately, we do not have any say in who is gay and who is not. We can't disassociate with them, try to set them up as some "other group." Just like you don't have any say in who your dad is. It's not like being gay is like being Catholic, where we can get excommunicated or something.

Thank heaven that under the laws of this country, we are not judged as homosexuals but rather as individuals. Or at least, that's the way it's supposed to work.

Last meeting, we passed around the revisions to the Homosexual Agenda. The riders included: footwear, Broadway Musicals, and recruitment of the innocent. Can't you just TIVO Desperate Housewives?
