Michelle Williams snubbed by alma mater
SOLANA BEACH, Calif., March 1 (UPI) -- She may be an Oscar nominee, but Michelle Williams gets no love from her Christian grade school for her role in the gay cowboy film "Brokeback Mountain."

Williams, 25, attended Santa Fe Christian in Solana Beach, Calif., which rejected the San Diego Union-Tribune's efforts to visit the school for a story about the actress' roots.

"We don't want to have anything to do with her in relation to that movie," headmaster Jim Hopson told the newspaper.

"Michelle doesn't represent the values of this institution. We would not approve of her movies and TV shows (including the teen drama "Dawson's Creek"). We'd not like to be tied to 'Brokeback Mountain,'" he said.

"Headmaster"? Someone should clue Miss Hopson into the fact that at least for some of us, "headmaster" means the guys with the dirtiest knees.

1. Would Miss Hopson be so rigid if, let's say, Ms. Williams pledged
a healthy endowment to the school?

3. Screw those hatemongers
What does she need them for? She's a famous actress up for multiple awards.

"Michelle doesn't represent the values of this institution."

Hatred, condescension, prejudice and so on? Good for her!

5. She deserves even more congratulations
For having left them all behind. That's the part of the story that should be featured.

6. If she wins, she can thank the school for teaching her homphobia
and ignorance, which helped her get into her role, and which she apparently over came!
