Gay Rights Fellowship To Advance LGBT Issues In S. Florida
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon05/12/123105flaGrant.htm

The ACLU of Florida has created a new fellowship to set the course for battling a proposed amendment banning same-sex marriage in the state and to develop policies to reverse Florida's sweeping ban on gay adoption.

It will also lay the groundwork for new ACLU policies to combat discrimination of the LGBT community particularly among young people in the public school system.

The fellowship was made possible by a $50,000 grant from the estate of Fort Lauderdale gay activist John C. Graves (pictured).

Graves helped build the cultural cornerstones of Broward’s gay and lesbian community. When he passed away in 2003, his estate funded a charitable trust in excess of $3 million to make charitable gifts to organizations that provide services to the gay and lesbian community.
