in my opinion, most gays on the net DO just want to snark and talk fashion, moisturizers, entertainment and hooking up. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :D

It's weird to me that gay men would rather socialize impersonally on the internet than, well, in person. I mean, how exciting is that, really?

I think most people don't particularly feel like talking about important things online. I don't think this has much to do with being gay.

12. Well, the threadstarter obviously wants to; I also enjoy it.

I have no problem if people DON'T, but personally, I'm not much into hooking up online or snarking back and forth or discussing topics which you'd find on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. :D

It's just a matter of personal preference.

there are "issue" boards that aren't complete hook-up sites

most of it is idle chatter but every once in a while you get some good topics going

also, I go to outsports.com and they have some forums that have nothing to do with sports

they have a politics forum; TV, movies, etc forum and a real life forum

I post a lot on outsports and there are some really good discussion threads and most of them are aimed at GLBT issues
