Calif. Gay Org. Opens New Fronts In Marriage Amendment War
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon05/11/112805california.htm

California's largest LGBT civil rights group on Monday announced a major expansion to stave off two threatened constitutional amendments to ban same-sex marriage.

Equality California has hired five new field organizers and is opening additional offices in Palm Springs and San Diego. It already has offices in San Francisco, Sacramento and Los Angeles.

“A fierce attack on our rights is now under way,” said Equality Executive Director Geoff Kors.

“Our expansion of field staff and base of operations will help us reverse the erosion of what we have achieved, and force our enemies to retreat and abandon their crusade of hate and intolerance. California is now Ground Zero in the war on LGBT equality and the outcome of this battle will determine the future for LGBTs everywhere.”

1. Yeah, well, good luck to them.
Here in Missouri we brought in field organizers when we faced an anti-gay marriage amendment in August 2004.

We lost 72 percent to 28 percent.

Good thing we had those field organizers or we might have lost 73-27 percent!

(Sorry. I'm not really cynical ... just "experienced.")

2. California isn't Missouri
and the current polls show about 50-50 split on gay marriage
