6 murders unsolved since 2000

Last month’s killing of a University of Texas at Arlington student in his apartment raised to six the number of unsolved murders of gay men in the Dallas area since 2000.

In each case there was no sign of forced entry, leading authorities to believe the victim had known or had just met the killer.

There were other similarities between some of the cases.

All of the victims were described as pleasant, well-liked men whose deaths stunned their families and friends, who expressed surprise that the dead men could have come in contact with a killer. Some of the victims apparently had sexual encounters with partners that they kept to themselves.
