Human Rghts Campaign Declares War on Santorum
That's Santorum the person, not santorum the substance...

Subject: Help us bring balance to Congress in 2006

HRC: Human Rights Campaign
HELP US BRING BALANCE TO CONGRESS IN 2006

I am fed up. I am tired of right-wing politicians who demonize
gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans. I am through
with bigoted lawmakers who continue to push for constitutional
amendments to deny GLBT people the right to marry. And I'm tired
of watching this vocal minority act as though they set the
agenda for the American people.

Starting today, you and I can be an integral part of shutting
these zealots down. Our first target? Pennsylvania Senator Rick
Santorum -- the man who likened homosexuality with incest and
bestiality and told an audience to "embrace intolerance" as the
proper way to show your fellow man the error of his ways.

Next November, we have a chance to unseat Rick Santorum and
other vigorously anti-gay legislators and bring fairness and
balance back to Congress.

This November, the Human Rights Campaign needs to raise
$100,000 to help us hit the ground running one year out from
the 2006 elections. Can I count on your support today to help
launch this ambitious campaign? Click here to make a donation:

Santorum and other hard right legislators are already out there
raising campaign war chests funded by extremist organizations to
maintain their stranglehold on Congress. That's why it is
critical that we:

:: Start NOW to get the word out about principled and
fair-minded candidates who share the values of mainstream
Americans.

:: Start NOW to mobilize and educate millions of voters -- to
ensure record numbers of Americans committed to equality turn
out to vote on November 7, 2006.

:: Start NOW with a groundswell of individuals who care about
equality to take back Congress from the extremists.

It's going to be a monumental task. And we're going to need all
our supporters, friends, and allies to stand with us... because
that's what it will take to win. Help us reach our goal of
raising $100,000 one year out from the 2006 elections and help
us ensure that Senator Rick Santorum and other right-wing
legislators lose their seats in 2006. Click here to make your
gift today:

In the year ahead, we can not lose sight of just how much is at
stake for GLBT Americans and all Americans committed to
equality. In 2005, we saw both progress and setbacks -- the
third time was a charm for voters in Maine who rejected an
attempt to repeal their non-discrimination law, but Texas
suffered a heartbreaking defeat when voters adopted a
discriminatory anti-marriage amendment at the ballot box.

I hope that we can count you in for 2006 as someone dedicated to
restoring fairness and balance to Congress and the country. And,
as always, thank you for your continued support of HRC.

Warmly,

Joe Solmonese
HRC President

P.S. This is an election that every fair-minded American must
care about. We have a real chance to change the political
landscape of this country and bring balance back to Congress. I
hope you'll make a donation today to help secure important
victories in 2006:

1. Sgt. Northernsoul, reporting for duty!
Please tell me the Geneva Conventions don't apply to Senator Man on Dog should we capture him on the field of battle.

2. I'd be happy to donate to the cause....
...as long as HRC promises - in writing - that they will refuse to endorse any Democratic candidate who will not stand up for same sex marriage. Not civil unions or any other 'contractual agreements' - marriage.
