Gays, Lesbians call upon boycott of Salvation Army
http://lgbtweekly.com/2011/12/02/gays-lesbians-call-upon-boycott-of-salvation-army/

The Salvation Army aims for “doing the most good,” but gays and lesbians don’t agree and are calling for a boycott of the charity on account of the organization’s stance on gay and lesbian relationships says MSNBC, USA Today, and others are reporting.

The boycott was spurred in part by Bil Browning, editor in chief at The Bilerico Project. “If you care about gay rights, you’ll skip their bucket in favor of a charity that doesn’t actively discriminate against the LGBT community,” he said.

Browning added, “The Salvation Army doesn’t believe that gays and lesbians should ever know the intimacy of any loving relationship.”

The Salvation Army says its beliefs stem from theology, according to reports at Christian Today.

1. " The Salvation Army says its beliefs stem from theology"
Very selective theology.

12. Selective my ass.
Hatred for gays is in the New Testament too. Explicitly so, unlike the Old Testament merely prohibits certain sex acts, whereas the Apostle Paul says we are evil. (Romans 1)

Why not try honesty for a change? Jesus was a despicable charlatan and the Sallies sure do follow him.

ANY Christian 'charity' is a bait and switch scheme to promote evil, not just the Sallies, and not just because they are politically against gays.

The Christian doctrine of 'salvation' is a diabolically evil horror.

3. That's too bad
I guess I'll have to skip them again this year, like I have for the last decade and a half for this very reason. They've not changed a bit. In addition to their total anti-LGBT* stance, they ram a dose of JaHAYzis down anyone's throat before offering assistance. They prey on the most vulnerable in order to further their agenda. And they talk about us "recruiting". Feh. Physician, heal thyself.

Recommend.

4. The Salvation Army was a great asset to me when I was a child
Living in a small appalachian town in S.E. Kentucky.

With that said as I got older & the Gay movement got more prevalent, I lost faith in this organization to the point I stopped donating to it years ago.

Recommended.

5. There are better groups to support. I give to my regional food bank. They feed people.
My regional food bank turns away nobody. The food bank doesn't have an entrance exam.

You Should have seen the fewferaw at HuffPost.

I heard that Target has banned the kettles in front of their stores but not sure on that one. Of course Christian bigots in some cases have upped their donations to show their support of prejudice and discrimination.
