DNC’s new faith outreach director is adamantly opposed to marriage equality
<http://gay.americablog.com/2011/10/dncs-new-faith-outreach-director-is-pro.html>

Q: So you’re not a supporter of same-sex marriage yourself?

A: No, no, no.

Sadly I don't have any clout on my own.

4. Another bigot. The hypocrite Harkins needs to be grilled on his support for
Other bits of his beloved St Paul's writings. Does he also believe that slaves should obey their masters? That women must remain silent and subservient? If not, how does he select which bits of his book cont and which can freely be rejected?
And where are all the 'true Scottsmen' who claim they are not all like Harkins, warpped and self sevimg? They will again show their true souls with their silence, thus it is proper to define them by their leaders.

5. It was Harkins church that the Obamas attended just before the Inauguration
Hence Rick Warren's transfiguration and the shitting on Gene Robinson became the answer to the vile McClurkin events. This bigotry has to cease. A bigot is a bigot, waving the cross and a heavily redacted Bible does not mitigate nor explain bigotry in civil politics.
It never ends.

13. Please repost it and leave out the
"fuck you Obama". Even though understandably you feel that way that alone got your thread locked. It is really worth of discussion. I cannot for the life of me figure out these moronic politicians. Just fuckin be consistent with your message. A good step would be to no appoint a god damned bigot to a position of power.

15. Please repost in GD-P staying carefully inside the lines of the DU rules and let's see what happens.
I'd like to hear an explanation for this from Obama's fierce advocates.

14. The Buddha never discussed sexuality. It was irrelevant.
I was raised Christian, but Buddhism makes a lot more sense and it goes hand in hand with science.
The best choice I made was exploring and then choosing this path.

Sad. Yet another reason I won't give a DIME to the DNC. Not a penny. Nothing.

This is just another appointment and one of those times when I'm astounded and wondering what in the hell are they thinking. I just don't get it. *scratching head*

22. I assume you are aware that Dean appointed
a Pentecostal Minister, Leah Daughtry, as his Chief of Staff at the DNC.

Dean's tenure was not a good thing for my community.

23. No, I wasn't aware of that, but I do remember that he received
death threats for advancing civil unions, at the least, when he was governor of VT years ago.

I guess that I just don't understand when democrats reinforce the crazed repub 'values' nonsense with these appointments. Tim Kaine, who was DNC chair post Dean didn't like unions, women's issues, nor GLBT issues.

I'm tired of going back in time and having some democrats helping the devolving. :hi:

21. Bigotry Is Indeed, A Lifestyle Choice…..

Some will hate you publicly... while others smile, and hate you privately..... but never confuse the fact, that both groups despise you with equal intensity....

Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 09:51 AM by JoeyT
Begging right wingers to vote for you because you want to oppress gay people too isn't much of a winning strategy. Too much of what used to be your base won't show up. Democrats can't be bothered to be better about economic issues, but they were usually better about social justice ones. Until now.

Edited to add: And the right wingers still won't vote for you, because they're not sure Democrats are sincere in their bigotry.
