This one has been going through my head a lot. I can see it being used for either a Pride Parade or for an "It Gets Better" song.

Oh, and yes, I realize it's Disney but it's still a great song.

1. I'd go for a mix....
Since we ar such a wonderful and diverse group that trancends all lines from ages/races/sexes/etc...

No one song would quite say it all..

Maybe a mix that kicks off with the traditional "we are Family" by Sister sledge, and morphs into "I kissed a girl" morphing into "it's raining men", but finishing up with the modern Lady Gaga's "born this way". And the float that would be blaring this mix would have the full range of GLBT family representation, hand in hand and united.

4. Here are some of my favorites.
I like this one for a lot of reasons. It is from the 1920's, yet it sounds so current. I love the in your face lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqULd0DOv7g

This one is reflective of the OP's song choice I believe, but I like it better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44pYL9-XOW0 This song is just flat out one of my favorites http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBR2G-iI3-I

I love this guy but he looks better in a dress, the sound quality is better here though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3Prshgtga4&feature=related This one is good from Christina http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAfyFTzZDMM

Don't be a drag just be a queen: for this line alone this song makes the list http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV1FrqwZyKw&ob=av3e

5. I couldn't think of anything
So I asked my lesbian daughters (they're 19), and they said immediately NOT "Born This Way" or "anything Katy Perry." After thinking for a few minutes, one of them suggested Eurythmics' "Sisters are Doing it for Themselves," and the other suggested "something by Erasure, maybe 'A Little Respect'."

Clearly my '80s music library has had an influence upon them musically. :)

7. Wrong with Disney?
Absolutely nothing. Many people seem to disregard it as 'fluff' because it's Disney. I thought Lemonade Mouth was an excellent movie.

15. No problem at all...
I completely understand and appreciate the fact that other folks like Disney, too.

I've just posted here (on DU, not in the GLBT board) about Disney and was met with indifference to disdain so I tend to tread lightly. I just really like that song and appreciate it for what it says.

(PS: My favorite movie? Mulan from Disney. Perhaps not historically accurate but a great movie in my opinion.)

Goin' to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Goin' to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're, gonna get married.
Goin' to the chapel of love.

Spring is here,
theeee sky is blue.
Whooooa! the birds all sing as if they knew.
Today's the day, we'll say, "I do"
and we'll never be lonely anymore.

Chorus:
Because we're going to the chapel and we're, gonna get married.
Goin' to the chapel and we're, gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're, gonna get married.
Goin' to the chapel of love.

Bells will ring,
theee sun will shine.
Whooooa, I'll be his and he'll be mine.
We'll love until, the end of time
and we'll never be lonely anymore.

Chorus:
Because we're goin' to the chapel and we're, gonna get married.
Goin' to the chapel and we're gonna get married.
Gee, I really love you and we're gonna get married.

17. Standard all time anthem....Diana Ross - "I'm coming out!"
or newer Christine Agulera "Beautiful"

Laday Gaga "Born this way"

I prefer Diana's because it has a huge, positive, sing along and dance feel to it.

Everybody knows it.
